Poor Man’s Concordance

Having recently found myself in need of knowing every reference to privacy and secrecy (and any variations, such as private, privately, secret, secretly, etc.) in The Moonstone, I did the following:

1) Grabbed the .txt version from Project Gutenberg

2) Saved it as a .txt file on my computer

3) Opened it up in Nisus Writer Pro

4) Searched for “priva” and advanced through the e-text, identifying the corresponding instances in my paper copy.

Pretty neat. Also handy for locating the “center” of a novel.
